Is there snack time?
We have two snack times: fruit break is at 9:00 am and afternoon snack is at 3:00 pm. Please make sure to pack fruit for your child’s morning snack. Afternoon snack is provided.
If my child has food allergies, should I pack an extra snack every day just in case he or she is allergic to the afternoon snack?
You may, but we do serve alternative snacks to students with allergies. Please make sure all your child’s allergies are on record in your child’s Emergency Medical Form.
Is lunch provided?
No hot lunch is provided, except on Friday. Every camper must bring his or her own lunch each day unless you order the pizza lunch. Please check with the Camp Desk for appropriate pizza order forms.
What time is lunch?
Lunch begins at 11:00 am. If it is a field trip day, lunch may be eaten a little later or earlier either on the bus or at the field trip site. Click here to view the Daily Camp Schedule.
How many field trips does my child go on each week?
Each age group takes one off-campus excursion every week, excluding Week #1. Depending on the age group, we take trips to places such as local water parks, museums, and nature centers. Click here to view the 2012 Field Trip Schedule. Your child must wear his or her purple camp T-shirt for these trips.
How often does my child go to the pool? For how long?
Off-campus pool trips are once a week for K5 campers and older. We swim for two to three hours, with hourly breaks. Campers must wear their purple camp T-shirts to and in the pool.
K3-K4 swims twice a week on-campus, and K5 swims once per week on campus. Click here to view the Daily Camp Schedule and see which days your child swims.
Does my child have to take a nap?
K3-K5 campers have a designated nap time every afternoon, and times are generally determined by the daily schedule of activities. K3 and K4 rest for about an hour and a half, and K5 rests for about an hour. K5 does not always have a designated nap time on off-campus pool and field trip days.
Is there a Camp dress code?
We ask that campers dress modestly and also appropriately for camp activities. Please leave skinny-strap tank-tops, short skirts and shorts, and T-shirts with inappropriate language or pictures at home. In addition, campers should wear tennis shoes to camp and bring flip flops or water shoes to wear to the pool.
When does my child have to wear his or her purple shirt?
Your child must wear his or her purple camp T-shirt for every off-campus field trip and off-campus swim trip.
What is the “MAT Form” and how do I complete it?
The MAT Form is a medication consent form that must be completed and submitted with medication if you would like the camp staff to administer any medication to your son/daughter, including, but not limited to, Tylenol, Benadryl, and sun block. Any medication that is to be kept at the Camp Desk for more than two camp weeks, excluding sun block or bug spray, must be submitted simultaneously with a MAT Form that is signed by your child’s physician.
Last summer, we required all parents to submit sun block to the Camp Desk with an accompanying MAT Form, because we assisted all campers with the application of sun block. This summer, you may do the following:
1. If you would like the camp staff to apply or assist in the application of sun block to your camper(s), you must submit your camper’s sun block with an accompanying MAT Form (the two must be submitted simultaneously), as was done last summer. We recommend doing this for our kindergarten-age campers, unless you will be applying sun block at home.
2. Older campers may bring in their own sun block and apply it to themselves without an accompanying MAT Form, but they will not be permitted to share their lotion with other campers or be assisted by camp staff.
3. If you do not want to send in any sun block with your camper, we strongly recommend purchasing a long-lasting (i.e. “8-hour protection”), waterproof sun block and apply it at home every day before coming to camp.
The same policy will be applied to bug spray. We recommend purchasing an insect repellent wristband if you are concerned with continual bug protection throughout the day.
If you would like assistance completing the MAT Form, please ask the Camp Desk. For additional MAT Forms, please click here.
